Madan Krishna celebrated 63rd birthday

Comedy artist Madan Krishna Shrestha celebrated his 63rd birthday in Sunkothi, Lalitpur. The event was organized in his home on May 15, 2013.

Last year, he didn’t celebrate his birthday because of the health issue of his wife Yasodha. The canse in Yasodha is cured now and he expressed his happiness in celebrating the birthday.

Haribamsha Acharya was also present in the ceremony with is wife Ramila Pathak.

Other artists in Madan Krishna’s house were Kiran KC, Manoj Gajurel, Deepa Shree Niraula, Gaurishankar Dhuju and others. The birthday celebration was planned by Haribamsah and others and he wasn’t aware of the ceremony.

What is MaHa ?

MaHa (मह) is the acronym of the comedy duo Madan Krishna Shrestha and Hari Bansha Acharya of Nepal in Devanagari script. In Nepali MaHa also means honey. They preferred the name because they wanted to portray themselves as sweet as maha.

The duo represents the pinnacle of comedy in Nepal. Their style is focused on creating awareness through laughter. They have also been involved in creating social activities and political freedom movements. They have created lots of tele-serials and various patriotic movies which are among the greatest hits in Nepalese TV and Movie industry. Among them, 15 Gate, Gaunkhane Katha, Lobhi Papi, Dashain, Je Bho Ramrai Bho (2003), Balidan, Ticket No. 216777, Raat, 205, Chiranjibi, Jalpari, OH:Ho, Madan Bahadur Hari Bahadur, Aama etc.
